Technique Classes

General Information

Technique classes are the core of the ballet program at Vineyard Ballet Academy. Students receive training in classical ballet technique as well as artistry and poise. Dancers are expected to commit to the entire session and attend class weekly.

Placement

All new students are required to take a Placement Class in order to determine which level is most suitable for the dancer.

Recitals

Students enrolled in technique classes (does not include Creative Movement class) have the option to participate in the recital held at the end of each Fall and Spring session. Vineyard Ballet Academy holds these recitals to showcase the students' progress.

Tuition

Tuition will be non-refundable after the date it is due. No refund will be given for missed classes for any reason. If a dancer must miss classes for an extended period of time due to serious illness or injury, which inhibits his/her ability to dance, any balance in his/her account will be credited toward future classes, subject to Vineyard Ballet Academy's discretion. If a dancer's account is delinquent, he/she will not be allowed to take class. If the outstanding balance is not paid for a second week in a row, the dancer will be dropped from the class. If a dancer is dropped from a class he/she will be required to re-register and re-pay the registration fee if he/she chooses to re-join the class and the class has not been closed. Dancers enrolled in technique classes are expected to attend class regularly. If a dancer misses three consecutive classes without giving prior notice, we will assume he/she has dropped the class. He/she will need to re-register and re-pay the registration fee if he/she wishes to rejoin the class and the class has not been closed. If a dancer must miss a class, they may take a make-up class within two weeks of the date of the missed class. For the dancer's safety, make-up classes must be taken in an equal or lower level class. Make-up classes do not carry over into the following session. For dancers joining the session late, tuition will be prorated.
